WXN (Women’s Executive Network) and its partners proudly announced that President & CEO, Joanne Sallay, of Teachers on Call was named as one of 2023 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award Winners in the Compass Rose Entrepreneurship category. This prestigious award celebrates the incredible achievements and impact of women leaders across the country who have made significant contributions to their fields and communities.

Women entrepreneurs are leaving their mark on the world in creative and groundbreaking ways. This award announcement arrives just in time for Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, which takes place annually on November 19th. Female founders and entrepreneurs play a vital role in transforming entire industries by closing the gender gap and empowering women and girls to become leaders in Canadian and global economies.

The 2023 winners will be celebrated in person at the 21st annual Top 100 Awards Gala, hosted at the Fairmont Royal York, Toronto, ON M5J 1E3 on November 30, 2023. The Top 100 Awards cover the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors, with the winners selected by WXN's Diversity Council of Canada.

To date, 1628 women have been honoured, with 173 hall of fame inductees. How are the Top 100 Award Winners chosen? The WXN Diversity Council of Canada review each nominee to verify that they meet the selection criteria for the category in which they were nominated.
